A meeting of tho local mining department of the Federation of Labour was held yesterday, and delegates proceeded to Ngakawau, for the purposo of meeting the union executive and to confer with the company's manager, Mr. Crowe. _ . Tho union secretary interviewed the manager re this deputation, and Mr, Crowe said he would only meet the members of tho local union. Ho subsequently communicated with the distriot mine managers, and reiterated his determination to meet only the executive of tho local union. A meeting of tho union, last night decided to leave the dispute in tho hands of the local mining department, any communication from the manager to bo forwarded to that body. The men out of work are enjoying theinsolvos at football, cricket, billiards, and whitebait fishing.
