On October 1 the Kent Terrace Prcs« byterian Church authorities came into possession of a sQction of land, on which it is proposod lator on to erect a new edifice, 'ilie present building has served its _term very well, and would do, at a pinch, for another ton years, hut tho vplattor and jangle of the cars, wliich traverse two tracks (Vivian Street and Kent. Terrace) in proximity, to tho church is often disconcerting. The site securod is a vory fine oneT It. is a block of land (100 ft. x 180 ft.) formerly occupied "by tho late Mr. Samuel Carroll, with an entrance from Brougham Street, lying between that thoroughfare and Home Street, on an eminence commanding a fino outlook over To Aro Flat and the harbour. Tho block adjoins tho present manse. . ' Tho section was purchased from tho trustees of tho Carroll Estate, who aro cutting up the block.
