BALLOON TRACEDY. MAN'S MARVELLOUS ESCAPE. By Telegraph—Press Association— Copyright (Rec. October 6, 10.35 p.m.) Barcelona, October 6. While a balloon was ascending hero, a man in tha crowd was caught by a guide rope and carried up. Tho aeronaut, trying to drag him on to the ear, overbalanced himself, fell out, and was instantly lulled. The balloon with the man dangling from it continued its ascent, and_ finally descended, several kilomotres distant. The man was uninjured. RECORD FLIGHT FOR NON-RIGID AIRSHIP. London, October 5. The Astra-Torres, a naval airship, in a trial at'Farnborough, did 51 miles an hour. This is a record for non-rigid machines. A new armoured army biplane, carrying a gun, was also tested. GUNNERY IN MID-AIR. Paris, October 5. An aeroplano equipped with a quickfirer successfully experimented at Chalons against a .fixed dummy aeroplane. Furthor tests aro to be undertaken with moving targets. FATALITTESIN FRANCE. ' Paris, October 6. M. Lav'erloehcre, a military aviator, has been killed at Chaumont. Sergeant Hurtard was bipliuiing at Rheiuis when the machine capsized. Tho pilot was killed, and a passenger was seriously injured. ''
