LYALL BAY SURF CLUB.
$ I ANNUAL MEETING. Tho third annual mooting of tho Lyall Bay Surf and Life-saving Club was held last evening. Mr. J. F. Atkins presided. The annual report and balance-shcet nero adopted. Eight now members wero elected. In electing these members Mr. Levy raised tho question as to whether they were all Rood swimmers. He thought that no Ono should bo elected into the club unless they wero such. Tho chairman considered that tho speaker had raised an important point, and inquinos elicited tho information that all tho new members wero good swimmers. It was decided, 011 the motion of Mr. Murrell to increase tho annual subscription from 2s. Gd. a year as at present, to ss. Another motion by Sir. Murrell, which was carried, was that tho costume of the club be altered to a single-piece wcollen costume, tho colour to do light and dark blue with V tights, and to bo worn under the costume. . On Mr. Somorville's suggestion it was decided to appoint representatives tj confer with delegates of other clubs nj to tho formation of a Wellington Piovincial Surf Bathers' Association. In recognition of tho services of tho secretary (Mr. Russell) it was decided, 01 the motion of Mr. Levy, to mako a presentation of a framed photograph of last rear's club executive. Mr. Murrell, last* season's club captain, reported.on tlie excellent work of tho club during tho season and particularly on tho good work of Messrs. Newman . and Russol. Ho strongly recommended that a new reel bo purchased for the club at a cost of £10. Officers wore elected for tho ensuing year as follows: —Patron, Sir, Robert Stout; president,. Mr. J. F. Atkins; vice-presidents, Drs. A. 0. M'Killop and Young, and Messrs. J. Henrys, R. B. Grainge, W. H. D. Bell, and A.'.Levy,; c'aptiun, Mr. R. Reid; vice-captain, Mr. R. M Newman; secretary, Mr. R. M.. Russell; treasurer, Mr. H. Neilsen; committeo, Messrs..S. A. Murrell, E. 'Levy, F. Hanson, H. Jackson, and K. D. Russell; gear steward, Mr. W. Myor; Royal Life-saving Society delegates, Messrs. 8.. Reid, and H. Russell.
