SYDNEY'S QUARANTINE BAR. By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright (Rec. October 2, 8.50 p.m.) Sydney, October 2. Instead of relaxing, the Federal Health Authorities are tightening smallpox quarantino restrictions upon- Sydney. Nobody except those -who have been successfully vaccinated, or lunatics, can now leave Sydney. _ Persons immune to vaccine must remain in Sydney until tho Commonwealth authorities release the city from; quarantino. The Sydney "Sun" states that a woman from New Zealand, possessing only a little means, and running near the end of her resources, sought to return to her homo and children. She was in an advanced condition of heart disease r-nd unfit for vaccination. The Now South Wales health officers certified to that effect, but tho Commonwealth authorities refused her a clearanco, and compelled lier to stay at a cheap lodginghouso. (Rec. October 3, 0.10 a.m.) Sydney, October 2. Four cases of smallpox were reported in the metropolitan area to-day.
