Senator Reed is leading tho Opposition to certain amendments already agreed to by conferences of both Houses, the Opposition declaring that they required further consideration b.y the Senate before being finally adopted. A controversy over cotton futures is likely to further delay the passago of the measure. AGREEMENT REACHED. (Rec. October 2, 10.40 p.m.) Washington, October 2. After a heated caucus session, Democratic Senators agreed to adopt tho Tariff Bill as it left tho conferences. New York, October 2. Mr. James Reynolds, president of tho National Association of Cotton Manufacturers, has declared that President Wilson's tariff will imposo intolerable burdens upon tho cotton industry. Only the most efficient factories can, ho says, escape tho extensive curtailment of the output.
