Police reports from Bengal emphasise the fact that there has been widespread dissemination of literature inciting to the murder of Europeans and the overthrow of tho British Government. Documonts seized indicate tho existence of an activo dangerous society imbued with advanced revolutionary ideas and methods, including tho assassination of police officers and tho removal of any person assisting tho Government. Tho police confess that they have signally failed to arouso a spirit of opposition to depredations and Dacoit outrages, and plead that their difficulties liavo been accentuated by a diminution in the number of recruits for the Police Force.
