$ RECOGNITION BY THE POWERS. By Tolegraph—Press Association—Copyright "Times" —Sydney "Sun" Special Cables. Peking, October 1. The question of the recognition of the Chinese Republic is being discussed by the Diplomatic Corps. The feeling is general among tho leading Powers that the timo has arrived to recognise the Government, but recognition will possibly be withheld unless China promises immediate attention to tho reasonable settlement of outstanding foreign questions.
