WAIKATO WINTER SHOW.

• At the seventh annual meeting of the Waikato Winter Show Association tho report showed the gross receipts to be £541 18s. 2d. | Tl|o profits on the,last show were over £400, an increase of 25 per cent, on any previous show. Tliero was a credit balance of, £450 at tho bank. The hope was expressed that every 'endeavour would be made to ensure the success of the jubilee show next year. The revenue account showed a on the year of £1801 7s. 6d., while the assets exceed the liabilities by £2670 15s. Id. Tho election of president, for which Mes-srs. F. Ernest Smith (retiring president) and W. Rothwell were proposed, evoked some discussion as to the propriety of augmenting the funds by means of the motorcar raffle. It was pointed out that this had been carried .out under the advice of tho association's solicitor, that it was legal," and, the committee—not the president—was responsible. A ballot for tho position resulted in the re-elec-tion of Mr. Smith by 63 votes to 43. Mr. Mason was' 're-elected treasurer.
