SCULLING.
WHAT IS GREER'S CLASS P The cabled news that Durnan, tho Canadian sculler, has defeated Frank Greer, the United States champion, by four lengths over a threo-milo course'is interesting to followers of big sculling. Greer recently challenged Barry to scull on the Thames for tho championship of the world, and tho Englishman had taken up the gauntlet, but the latest news does not indicate that the American is class enough to beat Barry on his own water, and must servo to show his own countrymen that ho is not the best oarsman between the Pacific and tho Atlantic. If the race does eventuate, which is now problematical it will be interesting, inasmuch as it is-many years (if ever) that tho United States navo offered a candidate for the world's sculling championship honours.
