Newman, M.P., in connection with the Wanganui Harbour Bill, the Wanganui "Chronicle" of yesterday morning said: —Referring to the publication oil behalf of the Wanganui County Council, which appeared in our issue of Tuesday, September 23, wo find, after seeing tho letters written by Mr. Edward Newman, M.P., that the statements contained in it and repeated in subsequent correspondence,, so far as they relato to him, are incorrect, and the insinuations against him unfo'unded. no wish to dissociate ourselves from the statements and insinuations contained in that publication, and express regret that they should have appeared.
