■ 0 MORE INFORMATION SOUGHT. Considerable interest has been manifested iu the . return laid on tho table of the House of Representatives on Friday* showing the amounts paid to legal firms by the late Liberal Administration, in connection with the acquisition of land lor settlements. In the House yesterday Mr. G. AV. Russell ' gavo notice to move: —"That there be laid before this House a return sl;o.ving: (1) Tho amount paid to the Hon. Mr. H. D. Bell's firm, cr members thereof, for law costs \a) during each of the years 1893-96, whan Mr. 'I. 1). Bell was a member of ihe House of liepiesentatives; (b) for tho jsiii'S aided March 31, 1891, and each year thereafter until tho appointment ot tli? Hen. Mr. H. D. Bell or that if his partner as' Crown Prosecutor and Cto vi Solictor was terminated. •• (2) l'iie tnta. law costs paid to Messrs. Stout a id 1 inulav and Findlay, Dalziell, and Co. in each year from July, 1894 (when Messrs Stout and Findlay began practice in Wellington), to the date Sir John findlay resigned his political offices in D> cejibcr, 1911. (3) The total sum :n each easo claimed by owners of 'and ill which Sir John Findlay was engaged as counscl for the Government, nul the total sum in each case awarded by the Court." Mr. C. K. Wilson gavo notice vo movo: "That-there be laid before this House a return, showing the amount of fees paid by tho present Government to the firm of Messrs. Bell, Myers, and 8011, solicitors, ' Wellington.:
