YACHT VANISHES,

TAKEN FROM BOAT HARBOUR. After making two attempts to leave Wpllingion for Auckland, the crew ■of tho yacht Matangi received instructions that tho yacht was to remain hero until the aj-rival- of tho owner, Mr. H. E. White from Auckland to-day. Besides this, instructions were given yestorday to Mr. H. Rouutree, who had chargo of tho vessel, to lock her up, and await further orders. It is stated that Mr. Rountree received a noto yesterday nftornooS to tho effect that a lady wishod to see him. Ho went a.shoro, locking tho yacht up before leaving, and handing tho keys to Mr. J. Fuller, junr. When ho rcturnod botween 6 and 7 o'clock last evening he found his clothes on the cement walk ,at the Boat Harbour, and was astonished to find also that tho yacht had gone, Mr. Fuller, who was acting for Mr. White, was communicated with, and the matter was then placed in the hands of the police. Apparently, those responsible for tho act must have broken into the cabin, and got the yacht under way. According to police information, it was their intention to go, to Seatoun, and there pick up anothor man. Knowing this, two constables wero dispatched to that locality, but had not returned late last evening. The Signal Station-keeper at the Heads reported that ho had not seen the yacht go out.
