A HANDSOME GIFT.
'ANOTHER PARK FOR AUCKLAND. (By TelozTfiDii—Pree3 Aisoclatlon.) Auckland, September 29. A gift of £9000 has been mado by Mr. A. M. Myers, M.P., to the city for tho purchase of laud between, Quern SJapet and Grey, Street, in ,thq.,heart of tho city for a public park." The gift was accepted by the City Council tonight, and the'notion of tho Mayor in acquiring nearly eight acres with -tho money was approved. It was decided that tho new domain Bhould be called "Myers Park." The special meeting of the council which accepted the gift was enthusiastic about the project, ■cheers being given for Mr. Myers.
