By Tofcffraph—Preaa Assoctetlon-Oopyrljlrt Lahore, September 23. The liabilities of the Indian banks that have failed total £460,000. The Amritsar Bank has decided to continue its affairs on a stable basis and prosecute the directors if they are found to be responsible.
The People's Baink of India, with eeventy-tvro branches 'G3 far apart A3 Rangoon arid Bombay, and .£BO,OOO capital, suspended payment a few days 070. This led to the closing down of the Airaritsar Bank, which has fourteen branches. There was ft continuous run. on other Indian-managed banks at Lahore on Saturday, but the English-man-aged institutions were not affected.
