According to tho newspaper "Weser Zeitung," the Kaiser's daughter (who was married to Prince Ernest of Cumberland) has becomo such an ardent partisan of the Guelph cause that tho Kaiser has summoned a family conference to sco what can bo done. It was understood that tho recent marriage meant the disappearance of the Guelph cause, and that tho Brunswick succession would be settled favourably as a concession by tho Kaiser.
Tho marriage of the Kaiser's daughter to Prince Ernest of Cumberiand was supposed to have ended a very long fond between tho houses of Hohenzollern and Guelph, the latter abandoning theiv claim' to tlia Throne of Hanover. At the tiino it was semi-olficially stated that tho Kaiser's principal gift would be tho proclamation of Prince Ernest as the new ruler of tho Duchy of Brunswick.
