THE DEVON'S HULL.
NOT WORTH WHILE SALVING. From inquiries made, it appears that the steamer Devon' is likely to remain where she is till the sea and time re- \ move her. Although no official report v has come to hand from Lloyds, it is .understood that it is considered that the cost of shifting and repairing the wrecked vessel would be much _ more than she 'is worth. Tho question of salving the Devon's top hamper, such as boats and davits, winches, etc., has yet to be decided. Nothing has been decided as to'whether tho Devon will bo stripped on account of her owners for the time being, or eqld as she lies on the rocks! Cargo amounting to about 1000 tons, consisting of paper, machinery, and other heavy goods, is still ,undor water in the holds. It is said that there is, no chance 'of salving this cargo. It is, in fact, reported to be washing out of the ship. '
