GARRISON OFFICERS CLUB.
PRESIDENT'S LETTER.
The following letter relating to certain press ' correspondence regarding Hie Wellington Garrison Officers Club, Vhich was received yesterday, sufficiently explains itself Sir, —It seems necessary to state, in order to avoid misconception, that the lottors of "Kauri Gum" and "Patriot" Lave appeared without tho knowledge of,'and were not prompted or approved by, tho executive of the club. The executive is able to identify "AntiSnobbery" and the various aliases abovo which diatribes against tha club have appeared, and also the authority relied on by certain) M.P.'s for criticism of tho club. Tho executive attaches thereto -precisely that measure of importance which is due, and'has no intention of appealing for public or political sympathy' or support. It may, however, bo said that tho letters or "Kaiuri Gum" and "Patriot" do not contain and do not purport to 6et out a complete) statement of the position.— I am. etc., P. J. COURTNEY, President.
