BEER DUTY,

MAKING THE OPPOSITION HAPPY. SIR JOSEPH WARD said that it would be very interesting to know what the proposal was in regard to beer th Thc Hon. F. M. B. FISHER said that the amendment dealt with a number of details. It did not increase the beer duty] (Opposition laughter.) Mr. J. V. Brown: What a disappointment ! Mr. Fisher said that he was glad to sec that his announcement had created such a general feeling of pleasure on tho part of members on. the other aide. The Bill was mostly technical, and dealt with tho collection of duty and so on. He was very glad that the Govornment had at last made tho . other side, so happy.
