Timaru, September 17. A Rugby match—Australia (16) v. South Canterbury (3)— was played here to-day in tho nreseneo of about 3000 spectators, under the best conditions. Tho visitors say that tliey played .their bosfc game oil tour, so.fa.f. Tlioy gavo a fine display of passing rasJios, aim. in the first spell, their scoro was 6—o —a penalty goal and a .try by Jones. In tho second spell Jones and Sutton scored, and another penalty by M'Mnhon made up the visitors' total. A. Spillano scored a penalty for the homo . team. Tho 'Australians leave for Christcliurch to-niorrow, and play tho third test match there on Saturday.
