ROSENEATH AFFAIRS.
MEETING OP THE RATEPAYERS. A' lively and active , spirit is being manifested by tlio ratepayers of Jloßeneath in connection with the affairs of tho district, and the meeting of tlio Ratepayers' Association last night was well attended. Mr. T. W. Ward presided. . One new member was elected. ' Correspondence was received from the City Council on several matters. The council promised to fix seats on Palliser Road, and also to have drainage connections completed in Roseneath. j It was decided to again request the council to erect a bathing-shed at Ballina Bay, and also to -request them to receive a deputation in regard to certain cross roads to be made in thq district. Tho association's application for a slot telephone brought 'a reply from the Government that the matter would receive early attention. It was resolved to set up- a social committee to look after the social sido of lifo in Roseneath. Intimation was received frpm tlio City Coiincil to the effect that the association's request for a bus service" would be attended to iriwn tho routes were being fixed. A motion was carried expressing tho ratepayers' thanks to the City Council for tho improvements to Lindum Terrace. ' .
