ANGLICAN BOYS' HOMES.
A general meeting of the Wellington Anglican Boys' Homes Society was held in St. Paul's Vestry on Monday, the Ven.'Archdeacon T. IVncourt presiding. There was an attendance of About 30 people. A. report of tho board's work was given by Mr. J. W. Henderson, chairman of tho board. Tho financial statement was .also read. The board is faced with heavy liabilities, but is hopeful that as tho useful work dono becomes better known, church people will support it more. The social service fund of tho diocoso has helped considerabl.y, also tho C.E.M.S. branches. The testimony of Dr. Hardwick Smith as to tho work dono in -tho homo in a ca-so which tho ordinary layman would havo considered liopolcss, is interesting. Ho stated "the progress of tho hoy whom you took at my instigation nine months ago is simply splendid. Allow me to congratulate your board on its excellent work with such a difficult case." Tito Election of officers resulted as under Patron, Right Rev. Lord Bishop of Wellington; president, Ven. Archdeacon T. Fancourt; vice-president, Ven. Archdeacon C, C. Harper; chairman of the board, Mr. J.. W. Henderson; secretary, Hev. W. 11. Walton; board, Messrs. J. W. A. Marchant, G. G. Bridges, D. M. Yeats, E. Ballacne.v, Mesdames Hursthouse, Beeves, Croll, Misses Pollen ond Marchant. Tho meeting recorded its grent appreciation of the services of Mr. Digby A. Jenkins as treasurer, and its sincere regrets at his departure from the city.
