WELLINGTON EAST CLUB. The annual report of the Wellington East Cricket Club—which is to be presented at the fourth annual . general meeting, to bo held to-morrow ovening, states that the Senior,-.A team, for the third time, filled the position of run-ners-up to the North Club. The team's records for the season wero as follow: — A team played 8 matches, won 6, lost 2; B team played 7 matches, won 2, lost 5. The club was-represented in representative matches by the following:—Messrs, W. 11. L. Gibbes, P. Midlane, C. Grimmett, H. M'Girr, W. Wagstaffe, P. Cullen, H. Collett, and W. Baker. H. M'Girr, a member, of this club, occupied the premier position in senior averages .for this city, with an average of 33.22. • The finances of the club aro fairly satisfactory, there being a debit balance of £11 '6s. lid., although last season was a rather heavy one as regards expenditure, owing to the amount ■ of now material required. Ono regrettable feature is the fact that practically tho wholo amount of tho subscriptions received have to be paid over to the association, leaving the club dependent on tho president and vice-presidents lor the means of purchasing tho necessary material for the year. - Last year, for instance, the amount of subscriptions received was £37 103. 6(1., and £30 10s. was paid to the association, while thoro is yet £11 ss. to be paid to that body. It is hoped that members will give this matter their serious consideration. Tho committee desires, to tendor its sincere thanks to tho president, vice-presidents, arid honorary members for their support, without which the club could not possibly exist uiider tho presont conditions. Apart from the actual result of matches, tho club has no reason to be- satisfied with the past season, the enforced withdrawal of tho junior team reflecting no credit on the club. It is to bo hoped that during the coming season more interest in club affairs will be taken by the rank and filo. PETONE CLUB'S MEETING. .
