UPPER HUTT TOWN BOARD.

The fortnightly mooting of the Uppct Hutt Town Board was held last ovcn> ing. Present, Commissioners Wobl (chairman), Benge, Bennington, Ed' wards, Komp, and Robertson. Dutbie and Co., Ltd., wrote asking tho board to pass an acoount for pip6s supplied to tho waterworks contractors (Andrews, Kennedy, and Gosse), and advising that interest accrued on overdue payment thereof had beon passed on to tho board. It was decided to pay interest; as' requested, subject to amount being stated, and to tho board's engineer being satisfied that tho dates' were correct. Tho dog-tax collccted reported 119 dogs in tho town district, 75 wjdstered, 13 to register, _aiid 17 registered outside tlio district. Two dogs had been tho Maori owner claiming the privilege 'of paying tax to tho Maori Council. Tho ranger reporter 16 seizures, the property of twelve owners, olio of whom is to bo summoned. Tho board resumed discission of bylaws proposed to be brought into force in connection" with tlio ' water' supply from Akaturawa, and it was decided to place a rough draft in tho printer's hands, tho proofs of same to bo supplied before next meeting.
