SUNDAY CONCERT.
. There was a largo attendance last night at His Majesty's Theatre, on tho occasion of tho sacrcd concert given by tho Wellingtoh City Band, under tho conductorship of Lieutenant T. Herd. An oxcellent programme had been prepared and. every item was greatly appreciated. Mr. 0. V. llohr, baritone, gave a splendid interpretation of "The Curfew" (Gould), , for which lie was heartily encored. His rendering of Schumann's "Tho Two Grenadiers," waß also most acceptable. The other vocalist was Mr. D. J. Evans, tlio Welsh tenor, who was most successful in "My Kingdom" (Adams), and "Sympathy" (St. Quentin), in both of which tho violin obbligato was admirably played by Mr. Gilchrist. The band acquitted thomselves well in "Tho Squadron" (Bcyer)j "Sataiiolla" (Balfe), and "Eajahinaliendra" (J. Ord Hume), whilst Mr. A. M'Donald played Vcrrando's "Sunset" as a flute solo and accompanied Mr. Shardlow in tho cornet duet in "Alpine Warbles" (Rimtner), both items being warmly applauded, J lr, j Hallow was the accompanist. i
