"ABIDE WITH ME."
OBJECTION AT PRESBYTERY MEETING. (By Telegraph.—Special Correspondent) Auckland, September 10. A suggestion that soma of the of the well-known hymn "Abido With Mo" should bo deleted was nut before the Auckland Presbytery by Mr. U . J. Bees last night. Tho hymn, written by ' i Mr. H. Flyte, and very happily set to music by Dr. Monk, was probably, he said, the most popular of evening hymns. As written it had consisted or live verses of great beauty, but when the Church Hymnary and. Church Praise had been issued by the Presbyterian Church.it had been found that an unwarrantable addition had been made by somo person. Mr. Rees urged that somo action, should bo taken with a viow to preventing tlio verses from appearing in any future edition of the Hymnals, and urged that their use should bo discountenanced at the present. The matter was to bo considered.
