BLACKBALL STRIKE ENDS
THE ,NEW AGREEMENT. (By T«lerro.Dh.—Preoi Association.) VVestport, September 10. Mining managers and miners l delegates sat at Westporfc in conference to-day, and finally came to a settlement of the Blackball strike satisfactory to both parties. The agreement provides that not more than six pairs of men shall be - employed on tho dog watch, and then only for development purposes," with. an exception in the cases of emergency. The management shall hav® tho right to work the number of men required to cope with such . cases ol emergency, emergency _ being defined to mean any unforeseen circumstances that may interfere with tho working operations of any sections of tho mino. It was also .decided that'twopence per ton extra on ordinary rates bo paid for three shift places, and that in the re-engage-ment.of men no discrimination shall bo made, Tho Blackball delegates Tetuined overland to-night, and work will be resumed en Friday.
