V,^ The Minister for- Railways is 'to be asked by Mr. W. H. D. Bell. M.P., when tlio Departmental report oil tho petition of the Manawatu suburban residents asking for certain trains to be run to and from Lambton Station will bo forwarded to the Railways Committee. Formation of a Dominion Army Service Corps is not being proceeded with until tho appointment by tlio Defence Department of four Impel ial officers and four warrant officers, after which tho appointment of Territorial officers and posting Territorials to the A.S.C. will be completed. A meeting of members comprising tho horticultural section of the Hataitai Municipal Electors' Association was held last evening, Mr. A. Leigh Hunt presiding. A strong committeo of twelve members was set up to canvas the district for support for tho show it is proposed to hold some time in December. Tho following classes were approved irv connection with tho show: — L'ot plants, cut blooms, bouquets and table decorations, vegetables and domestic entries. A further meeting is to bu held in a fortnight's time, when final arrangements will be undertaken with reference to the show schedule.
