NEW CHAMBER OF COMMERCE.

A meeting of the Council of tho Wellington Central Chamber of Commerce was held yesterday afternoon, the Hon. C. M. Luke, M.L.C., presiding. Consideration was given to the Incomo Tax Bill, which is now before Parliament, and also to tho question of anomalies in tho Workmen's, and Contractors' Liens Act. Thcso questions will bo fully discussed at the next meeting of tho Council, which is called for September 16. Tho reports of tho sub-committees appointed to inquire into the matter of securing suitable promises and also with regard to tho articles of the association and registration wero deferred for furtlior consideration. It was decided to invite applications for the position of secretary to tho Chamber.
