PROTEST ON PRESENT BILL. (By TctofifTftph;—Spocdal OorrosponAonltJ ' Wanganul, September 9. The provision mads in the Land and Income Tax Bill, now before Parlia-. ment, for the increase of tho graduated tax on the incomes of .companies,_ is viowed with disfavour in Wajiganui by the Employers' Association, which resolved last evening to forward a protest against the proposal to tlio Prime Minister and the Minister for Finance. Tho grounds of objection are that such an increase would have an injurious effect on industries generally, and prevent the investment of capital in limited liability companies in particular. The association suggests that, if an, increased tax must bo imposed then it should be applied to dividends only.
