INTER-'VARSITY MATCH. Yesterday morning, on the Duppa Street ground, the Victoria College team met and defeated a team from Otago University. Tho local men had much thft best of things in tho first half, although tlioy only managed to notch ono goal—shot by G. Straclc. Tho spell ended without tho visitors scoring. In the second spell tho Otago men showed up better, scoring two goals, both obtained by W. Bannerman. G. Strack, for Victoria College, found tlio net twice more, however, rind tlto game ended witli the scores: Victoria College, 3; Otago, 2. Messrs. W. Manning presiding. lb i\as decided to oloso tlio senior championship, and declare Victoria Cpllego winners. Mr. Morpeth moved that the thirdclass championship bo declared closed. An amendment wa.s moved that this championship bo continued for two moro Saturdays. The amendment was carried.
