HIBERNIAN SOCIETY.
(By Telegraph.—Press Association.) Auckland, August 28. The -half-yearly meeting of the New Zealand district of the Hibernian Society was held last night. Jt was reported that tho funeral fund had a credit balance of £10,500. During the half-year £260 had been paid on funeral claims. ' There was a .lengthy discussion on a scheme propounded by the executive for extending ■ greater, powers to branches in groups, in the hope of maintaining the unity and* solidarity of the society in tho Dominion. The president gave an assuranco that, steps, would be taken to amend the rules in this direction. : 1
