IMPORTED SHORTHORNS.

An interesting shipment of pedigree cattle arrived in New. Zealand on Wednesday Inst by the Maunganui. The herd consisted .of fivo milking Shorthorn heifers, which aro now in quarantine on Somes Island. Tho animals were purchasedrthroufrh Dalgety and Co. for slr. Charles I*'. Murray, of Whurenni, Marlborough, who intends to go in for n-ilk-ing on an extensive scalo. Mr. Murray has also in view tho establishment of a herd of Shorthorns, to servo the dual purpose of "milk and.beef." With this idea in view, lie obtained from the herd owned by tho Scottish' Australasian Investment Company, of Dalbara, near Gun. dagai, N.S.W., fivo heifers, which aro,all in calf. Three of these are by the champion bull "Emblem of Dalbara."
