THE CHINESE REBELLION. By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright Peking, August 18. The revolt of the Southern district of the Chinese Republic against the Government of Yuan Shih Kai (the President) continues to drag along. There has been sharp fighting at Nanking, ihe rebels hold 'the Purple Mountain. Foreigners have taken refuge'on warships. It is stated that five thousand men were killed in, the recent fighting at Canton, including 3500 civilians. The mint was looted of £11,250. It is reported from Tokio that Generals Chen Shih Mei and Huan-Hsing, and Dr. Sun Yat Sen, who fled from China, have arrived at Yokohama, en route for Tokio.
