VISITING POLITICIANS.
1 A BRITISH PARTY. THE HON. H. D. BELL TO GO TO AUCKLAND. The arrangements for tho entertainment of the British Parliamentary pally, which will pay a short visit to New Zealand a iortnight hence, have been advanced a further stage. It is hoped that the Hon. H. D. Bell will be able to go to Auckland to welcome the party on uehalf of the Government ami the New Zealand Branch of the Parliamentary He will, it is understood, see the Mayor of Auckland, and tho chairman of tho Auckland Harbour Board prior to the arrival of the visitors, in order that they may, <111 behalf of the public, have an opportunity of greeting the visiting Parliamentarians. The party will leavo for liotorua on the evening of their arrival. . The party will proceed to Wellington by the Maui Trunk express on Thursday, August 28. The party have- expressed a ilesiro to inspect the AVereroa State li'arm on their way to .Wellington, and arrangements will probably bis made to meet this wish. The visitors will be entertained at some function hero on the evening of their arrival. On tbo following morning thoy will bo Maken i'or a drive to the wireless station, oil the Tinakori Hills, and on their return, the male members of tho party will bo entertained at luncheon at Bellamy's. The party, with tlio exception of Lbrd and Lady Einmott, will leave tho same evening for Sydney. Lord and Lady Einmott will proceed to Auckland by tho Saturday's express, and take passage for Sydney toy the Monday's steamer. Tho party visiting New Zealand is ill charge of Lord Eiuniott, Under-Secre-tary of State for tho Colonies and formerly Deputy-Speaker of the House of Commons. He is accompanied by Lady Einmott. Tlio other members of the party visiting the Dominion are Lord Sheffield (Liberal), formerly M.l\ for Oldham, and vice-chairman of tho London School Board, the lit. Hon. C. B. StuartWortley, (Unionist). M.P. for tho Hallam Division of Sheffield, and chairman of tho City and South London Railway Company, tho Et. lion. Tlios. Lough (Liberal), a > London tea merchant, and M.P. for Islington, Colonel Sir Hildred Carlilo (Unionist), 51.1*. for St. Albans, and lately a director of the well-known cotton linn of J. and P. _Coals, Ltd., Mr. Donald Macmastor, K.C. (Unionist), M.P. for Chcrtscy, Mr. A. AV. Black (Liberal), M.l', for North .Bedfordshire and a laco manufacturer at Nottingham, Mr. Hamar Greenwood (Liberal), M.P. for Sunderland, barrister, Mr. D. A. I'irio (Liberal), M.P. for Aberdeen North, director of Alexander Pirie and Sons, Ltd., and who, as a soldier, lias seen active service' in' Egypt, Sudan, and South Africa, Mr. Arthur Sherwell (Liberal), M.P. for Huddersfield (Yorkshire), a writer on economic and political questions, Mr. AVill Crooks (Labour), M.P. for Woolwich, Sir Stephen Collins (Liberal), M.P. for Kennington (London), stone merchant and contractor, and Mr. Howard D'Egville, lion, secretary of tho United Kingdom Branch of tho Enipiro Parliamentary Association.
