ALLEGED NEGLECT IN LIBEL CASE. By "cleerapli—Press Association—CopyTtelit •'■i n''Melbourne, August .2 Tlio case in which John Norton, of ''Truth,'' sued David Herald, solicitor, for .£3OOO damages, for alleged negligence in the conduct of tlip defence in the action brought by -Archbishop Clarke, of Melbourne, against Norton, for alleged libel in connection with the Canon Nash case, hag concluded. Mr. Justice Isaacs, in summing up, said thero was a considerable difference of opinion as to what instructions the defendant received at the outset •of tlio libel action. One side or tlio other had been telling tho Court what it know to bo untrue. Tho jury returned a general verdict for defendant, and judgment was entered up for defendant, with costs.
