PRESENTATIONS.
The Hibernians of Wellington and the Hutt assembled in large numbers at tho fathering which was held in Wellington Hull, Boulcott Street, on Thursday evening, for the purpose of bidding Mr. and Mrs. Callaghan farewell. Members from both the men's and the womens-' brandies were present, and Bro. V. D. Hoskins presided, nnd there wore also present His Grace Archbishop O'Khea, tho Very Bev. Dean Regnault, S.JI. (Provincial "of tho Marist Order in New Zealand), the Rev. Fathers Wnlsh (Lower Hutt) and M'Menaniin (Petone), and -Mr. Geo. OiirlingButcher (chairman of tho 'Dominion executive of the Now Zealand Catliolic'Fecieration). Letters of apology were received from Veil. Archdeacon Devoy, Rev. Fathers. Hickson and ■•Herring (2), Sir. J. E. Fitzgerald, and others. Several presentations wore made. Bro. J. A. Sullivan, president, oi St. Patrick's Branch, f>s, presantc-d him with a handsome' sidoboard on behalf of the members of the Hutt .Branch, which ho formed and opened, gave him (through Bro. Hodgins) a. case of pipes; the Sncred Heart Branch, Thorndon, which he also opened, and of which he has boon secretary presented him* through Bro. J. Hunihprey (president), with a solid silver cpergne; on behalf of the St. Aloysius Branch, Newtown, Bro. John Pagnnjianded him a silver teapot nnd hamlbnE for Mr.?. Crfllaghan; and G. O'Flahertv, acting for the Indies' Branch (St. Mark's No. ,1), presented him with two Morris chairs. Eulogistic speeches were made by Archbishop O'Shea,' and' several others. In. addition to the presentations and speeches, tin interesting programme was contributed, the performers oeing Jtiss Jausen, Una Simon, Griffin, Lyons, Gregory, Curtice, A. Sullivan, and Messrs. C. M'Erlean, J. A. ' Sullivan, Thos. P. and M. M'Carthy, Craig, Bradley, and Jules Simon. The arrangements of the evening were carried out by Miss G. O'Flnherty, of tho Ladies' Branch, and =ho was accorded a hearty vote of thanks by acclamation. ■
