EDUCATION INSTITUTE.
ANNUAL MEETING. The annual meeting of the Wellington District Education Institute was lield last night. Mr. C. Bary presided over an attendance of about thirty. Several members of tho Mjmawatu branch were present. The following officers were elected:— President, Mr. J. Tamblyn, M.A.; vicepresidents, Messrs. C. ■ Bary and A. M'Kenzie; treasurer, Air. J. C. Burns, M.A.; secretary, Mr. ~W. W. Rowntrco; auditor, Mr. J. Thawaites; management committee, Miss Dowdeswell; Messrs. E. H. Ballachney, C. Watson, and J. C. Webb. In reply to a question, the treasurer that there were "tiro members owing three years' subscriptions, eleven owing for two years, and fifty-two owing for one year. Other business is reported elsewhere.
