STARTLING FALL IN PRICES. By Telegraph—Presa Association—Copyright London, July 19. The sale of Lord Holden's collection of pictures at Christie's, which included many well-known examples of the Victorian artists, was characterised by a sensational fall in values. Landseer's "Otter Hunt," for which iCIO.OOO was originally paid, only realised 1200 guineas. Clarkson Stanfield's "Wooden AValls of Old England," wont for 160 guineas, against its original price of 2700 guineas. The works of Tadcma, Prout, Rosa Bonheur, and many other artists showed a greatly depreciated value under the hammer.
