4 MAGNIFICENT PEARL NECKLACE. VALUED AT £150,000. SENSATION AT HATTON GARDENS. By Mcgraph-Pieaa Association—Copyright (Sydney "Sun" Special.) London, July 17. The pearl neoklace, valued at £150,000, reported yesterday as having been stolon between Paris and Hatton Gardens while in transit by post, was registered in Paris on Tuesday last. It was addressed to Max Mayer, an Australian authority on pearls, and contained G1 pearls. It is assumed that tho theft was per-, pctrated in France. The loss of the necklace has caused the ■biggest sensation in tho history of Hatton Gardens. Mr. Mayer, tho owner, was occupied for a year in collecting tho 61 pearls, of which the missing necklace consisted. It is believed tho necklace was the most valuable in the world, tho price asked for it being It was insured for the full amount at Lloyd's, who have offered ,£10,(100 reward. Tho sugar placed in tho packet from whioh -the necklace was taken represented thte weight of the pearls, to a gramme. Several seals hod apparently been removed and exactly similar ones added.
