The practice lias been to submit the names and applications to the committees of all toachcrs who applied for any position advertised by tna board. This practifl? is entirely in accordance with the provisions of the Education Act, as advised by tho board's solicitor. The matter was introduced by tho Marlborough branch of tho New Zealand Tethers' Institute, who requested tho board not to submit more than four names, in order of merit, for the consideration of committees.
