SUBURBAN TRAINS.
MEETING AT TAWA FLAT. A meeting of residents of Tawa Hut wai held last evening in tho local school-" room. Mr. Taylor presided, and thord was ail altendauco of between 10 and 50« Tho meeting was held to consider rniU way matters, and the following motion, put l»y Mr. G. Janes, ami seconded by Mr. H. Greer, was carried: "That this meeting- of Tawa Flat residents urges upon the Minister for Railways the necessity of tho two separate trains arriving at' Thorndon at 7.3.1 a.m. aud 8.45 a.nu running into Lambton Station, and also tho necessity of the 5.30 p.m. and C.25 p.m. outward trains departing from tliat station." The meeting further approved of the formation of a league, to lx> called tho Manawatu Suburban Railway League PORIRUA MEETING. Last ovening between 20 and 30 peopla' attended the meeting at Porirua, orrajiß' ed in connection with the petition for tho running of the Manawahi suburban trains to Lainbton Station. Mr. P. It was unanimously decided to form a Porirua. branch of the Manawatu Sub* urban Railway League, and Messrs. Mil* denhall and Mason were elected provw sional delegates to represent Porirua oiy tho executive committee until tho general meeting, wliicli lakes place next montliJ It was mentioned at tho meeting that ni present there is no (Tain up from Wel< linglxm after 6.30 each evening to tliosa stations beyond .Tohnsonville, except of one day in tho week.
