WOODVILLE ITEMS.
. » 'Mr. D. A. Grant, of the Woodville branch of the Bank of New Zealand, is at present 011 relieving duty at Feilding. Mr. E. H. Eggl-eston left Woodville on Monday for Auckland, where he has secured a position. The Papatawa School Committee mot on Saturday as a "forking bee," and spent a busy time trimming the hedges and cleaning up tho school grounds generally. The bachelors of Kumoroa held their annual ball on Friday night, but, owing to the event clashing with two or three similar events, tho attendance was rather poor. The music was supplied'by Mrs. llarmer, extras, being played by 'Messrs. Gilbert and O'Hagan. The "hard-up bill," in connection with the Papatawa School piano fund, took p'.aco on Friday night. There was a very good attendance. Mrs. J. S.. Nelson" supplied the music, and Mr. A. Curry acted as M.C. Extras were a}?o played by several of the visitors.
