Tho Australasian Methodist Conference resolved that the time has arrived when a nioro strenuous effort should be made for complete and effective evangelisation of tho Bismarck Archipelago, and the establishment of a Mission Board to carry outi tho work. It was decided to send fraternal greetings to the Free Church of Tonga, expressing a hope that ere long there would bo a reunion of the Tongan chnrches, and asking tho next conference of the Free Church to consider the question, and, in the ovent of union of the two Tongan churches being found possible before the next Australasian Conference is held, authorising the president to tako steps to give effect thereto. Tho conference declared against a mo- ' fcion for giving native ministers equal 6tatus with European where questions of j character arose relating to European ministers.
