MEETING OF THE CONTROL. Tho executivo of the Wellington Rugby Football Union hold their usual meeting last evening. Mr. E. Hnlcs was in tho chair. 'i'ho Marlborough Rugby Football Union wrote, asking whether tho Wellington Union would bo willing to play a return gamo at Blenheim if their junior representatives played tho Wellington junior representatives iti Wellington iirst. —Tho matter was held over till convenient dates aro available. A letter was received from tho headmaster of tho Petone District High School asking for J!i!0 to defray expenses for tho tour of a school team chosen from tho Wellington public schools to play at l'aiinerston, Wanganui, Stratford, and Itawern in tho August holidays. It was decided to grant XIG. Tho JUanawulu ltugby Union wrote, asking if they could play a match against tho Wellington Union, ns a "curtainraiser" to tho Zealand match.—This matter was held over for a fortnight. , „ , , 'i'ho secretary of the South Canterbury Union wrote, re tho proposed match against them 011 the southern tour of tho Wellington team, asking if it would bo possible) for tho Wellington Union to open their southern lour at Timaru on the Thursday, and play Dunedin on tho Saturday, Invercargill on the Wednesday, Canterbury 011 Saturday, and then leave for home Sunday morning. Tho length of such a tour would only l>o ono day longer than tho present tour as mapped out.—The secretary was instructed, to write to tho South Canterbury Onion, stating that tho matter hud oocn held up, pending information as to what timo would bo lost, and also to intimate that tho dates with tbo other southern unions cannot be altered. _ The secretary of the "Nairarapa Union submitted a statement of expenses in connection with Wairarapa's visit to Wellington on June 3. The amount totalled .£l7 2s. This was passed for payment. The letter also contained a suggestion that Julv 19 or July 2G would i>o convenient dates for the junior• representative match at Wairarapa.—This matter was held over.

The match was played in beautiful weather, and the game'throughout was rigorously contested. Iho Maoiis in their passing wero bnlliant, and their defence was very sound. Tho Qneenslanders form was much below that shown on Satur< ay, ami :heywere defending for the greater part oi the game. They also lacked ,combination. Rylnnd scored two tries, and French one. Woods converted one. OTAGO AND CANTERBURY COLLEGES. Dunedin,, June 18. A football match between 'Otago Universitv and Canterbury College was played to-day, tho University team winning by 12 points to 3. For the winners tries were scored by Harris, Mawson, ltliers, and Nisbet, while Carbvright kicked a penalty goal for tho visitors.
