ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES
UNIDENTIFIED BODY. Yesterday Dr. M'Arthur, S.M., held an inquest concerning the death of the man whose body was found on Tuesday floating in tho harbour near Tbornoon Esplanade. Tho verdict was: "Found drowned." Subsequent to tho inquest,'the body was identified as that of William Pye, formerly a corporation labourer. GIRDER FALLS ON WORKMAN. . (By Teleiraph.—Press Aasoolation.l Hawera,.June 13., James Home, need 23, a single man, a labourer employed on tho. Mannwapou railway deviation works, was killed yesterday. Home was assisting to haul iron girders up an embankment, when the tackle broke, and the girder slipped back on deceased, killing him instantly. He rocently arrived from Auckland. MANUKAU TRAM FATALITY. Auckland, June 13. An inquest was held at Manukau Heads .this afternoon concerning tho death of James Farrolly, of Manukau Heads, who was killed on Thursday afternoon by a bush tram engine. Evidence showed that deceased was engaged in iepairing the tram track, and was working on a small bridgo. • He was standing on a trestle, whicli was about 3ft. below the rails,, when tho engine camo along. Instead of descending, as he could have done, 'deceased got upon the track. He attempted to run clear of tho engine, but slipped and was run over. His neck and left thigh wero broken., death being instantaneous. Tho jury found that deceased cam© by his death through being run over by a tram ongine, no blame being attributable to anyone. '
