OPPOSITION CANDIDATE. my Correspondent.! Hokitika, Juno 13.' Jlr. M. Hannan, tho well-known solicitor and chairman of tho Grey County Council, is definitely announced as tho Opposition candidate for the Grey seat. The Labour people at the Stnto collieries have had a meeting, and the choice of Che candidate 1o carry the Labour ticket will rest between Messrs. P. J. O'Kegan, P. C. Webb, and tho Kov. If. Avreton (Kunauga). Probably the federation will Fettle the mailer. A requisition is being freely signed in (he Grey district, asking Mr. H. L. Michel to contest tho scat.
