During the comparatively short period Ilmt has elapsed sinco its first appoaranco on tho market, thcB.S.A. motorcycle has rapidly forged its way ahead, until to-day it stands in the very forefront of single-cylinder machines. The U.S.A. scored its latest and most crushing triumph in the greatest motor-cycle competition yet organised, the Paris-Nice triiil over G(>" miles. All Iho lending liritish and Continental molor-eyclos were represented, 'l'lic most valuable prize was that, jiven by the President of tho French Uepuolic for the smallest engine with sidc-cir to complete the journey, and this coveted distinction fell to the 13.5.A. The ri.M.A. also won the La Tiirbic hill-climb, Leatim: machines of much higher power, ami tiie Flying Kilometer' event for 3J li.p. machines with side-cars. Only two H.S.A.'s competed in the Paris-Nice Trials, and both came through without losing a single marl;, winning gold medals. The U.S.A. was the only machine to finish in the Ili. h.p. single-cylimliT class in (lie SOD e. e. iid.M-ar class, llic only Iwo clas-es in which it was entered.
