Mademoiselle Genee, the famous Russian Court duties!',, passed through Auckland to-day by the Makurii, en route for Melbourne, where she is shortly to appear under tlio J. C. Williamson management, in conjunction with'tlio Russian Ballet. Mdlle. Geneo was met on her arrival by Mr. Richard Steiyart, on behalf of "the firm," and by him escorted to tli? Auckland Racing Club's meeting at Ellcrslio. There tlio visitor 'was given a reception under tlio allspices of the A.R.C., several prominent Aucklanders attending. • ' Mdlle. Geneo is in iirivatc life Mrs. Isitt, a'lid it is rather, interesting to knojr that lwr husband is'a cousin of the well-known-Christchurch and Wellington people of thai name. She is a native of Denmark, but lives in London when at home, and speaks English as though it were her mother tongue.
