Veitch, M.P., after reference to (lie cost of living and its causes, proceeded to condemn the extremist policy indulged in by a certain section of tlio people. There were thoso in tlio Labour party, ho said, who did not believe in sending men to Parliament to help put tilings Tight. They would rattier wait till things got so bail that a revolution would be the outcome. Others desired to bring about industrials upheavals. He condemned these policies, and saitl ho had 110 sympathy with strikes./ Tito way out was for tho workers to combine politically and work whole-heartedly to pet their platform adopted plank by plank. They must not' imagine that they were going to get the whole of their platform adopted either to-day nr to-morrow, and the sooner that was recognised tlio better. In answer to a question as to whether he was in favour of the Unity proposals passed in the early part of the year, Mr. Veitch replied: "I cannot say. - I. shall nttend a conference in .Tilly, and ray frankly what I think about the matter.
